Our impressive scout hall
We have our own headquarters building which was designed for us by two of our Leaders. It is made entirely of wood and was manufactured for usin the UK.
The land adjacent to the building is the Group's own campsite and has been landscaped and planted to both fit in with the local surroundings and also to provide safe camping and recreational grounds.
The main meeting hall provides a large activity and sleeping area for large groups. There is also a smaller dining/project room that doubles up as an activity room for small groups or as a sleeping area for smaller or mixed membership groups. Tables and chairs are available to seat 36 comfortably and both the dining room and main hall have a serving hatch directly into the kitchen.
The spacious kitchen has a large commercial oven and six- burner stove, large refrigerator and freezer along with storage for food and equipment. Crockery and cutlery to cater for groups up to 36 and a range of kitchen utensils, pots and pans are provided.
Male and female toilet and shower rooms are available along with facilities for those using a wheelchair. There are also two small bunkrooms (sleeping four each) and a separate toilet and shower room for adults. The building is fully equipped with central heating and has full fire alarm and smoke/heat sensors.
The building also has its own climbing wall which is available for hire. Only those with a Scout Adventurous Activity Permit specifically for the wall are able to run climbing events but if you want to experience this activity just give us a call!
The site itself is located within Les Creux Country Park, and offers many varied opportunities to those using the building and site. The site is within walking distance of local shops, churches, sports facilities, public swimming pool and a choice of local beaches, including the famous St Brelade's Bay.
